Car modification seeks new coordinates in policy loosening

From 2018 to 2026, domestic policies related to automobile modification will continue to be upgraded and optimized. From the improvement of supporting regulations in various departments to the coordinated promotion between the central and local governments, policy implementation has completed the full stage of promotion from the initial standard breaking, mid-term regulation easing to later implementation, promoting the industry from a gray area to a new stage of high-quality and compliant development. Liu Yalong, Secretary General of the Modification Branch of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, said that in 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology authorized the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers to establish a National Automobile Modification Technology Committee to promote the formulation of industry standards and support the development of the automobile modification industry. Various signs indicate that the country is making every effort to promote the standardized and large-scale development of the automotive modification industry.

The continuous implementation of policies has set the tone for the development of the automotive modification market in the coming years. Several industry insiders have pointed out that as we enter the 15th Five Year Plan period, the automotive modification industry will become an important lever to activate the consumption potential of the automotive aftermarket.
