Automotive modification challenges and risks
Although guidelines have been issued at the national level, the attitudes of transportation bureaus, environmental protection bureaus, and local traffic management departments towards retrofitting may vary. Some cities may continue to strictly control behaviors such as appearance, noise, and emissions, and there may be gaps in policy implementation.
01 Local implementation differentiation
Although guidelines have been issued at the national level, the attitudes of transportation bureaus, environmental protection bureaus, and local traffic management departments towards retrofitting may vary. Some cities may continue to strictly control behaviors such as appearance, noise, and emissions, and there may be gaps in policy implementation.
02 Safety standards and testing system are currently incomplete
Legitimate modifications must be matched with qualified testing institutions, certification processes, and filing systems. However, at present, third-party testing capabilities and standard tools are still in their early stages, and the industry as a whole has not yet formed a mature technology and service trust system.
03 Brand Trust and Consumer Concerns
Many consumers have a lack of trust in the modification market: they are afraid of being "tricked", afraid of "fixing a bad car", afraid of "difficulty in settling in", and afraid of "difficulty in annual inspection". Branding, transparent services, and after-sales support are essential tasks that the industry must complete.
04 High cost threshold
High end modification parts such as intelligent modules, software upgrades, biomaterials, and lightweight alloys are expensive. Although ordinary details can be modified, high-value projects that truly make users' improvements worthwhile are still in the cultivation period.
